ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE is a generous culture and dynamic economy in support of artists and makers.
The concept is a simple one, I post images of my work to sell for no more than US$200 each (not including shipping). Anyone can then buy the work. Every time I reach US$1,000 of sales, I pledge to buy another artist/s work for up to US$200. It is an honor to support fellow artists around the globe. |
Rain -Lluvia
Oil on Canvas board
19.5 x 19.5 cm - 7.87 x 7.87” Purchase code RL61: US$200 One can dream and wish. In Pueblo Edén we are all wishing for the same thing these days: rain. So here comes the rain, a lovely, long, and much-needed outpour that will turn the landscape green again. The clouds, with their dark blue hues, are welcome to stay and cry tearfully, so the hills and their inhabitants get refreshed, ponds and lagoons get filled up, and streams get to run with agility. May the rain come! |
Drought - Sequía
Oil on Canvas board
19.5 x 19.5 cm - 7.87 x 7.87” Purchase code DS60: US$200 It hasn’t rained in two months. The green hills have turned to shades of ochres, yellows and subdued greens. The most distant hills have changed their hues from blue to a hollow grayish that cannot find its footing. These are new colors for this undulating landscape, colors locals have not seen since the summer of 1986. Even the air has changed and scents of su mer blooms don’t travel as fully or linger to be appreciated and cheered. The steps you take give the crispy grass a new sound. Storms seem to pass us by these days and now everyone: hills, rocks, trees, lizards, armadillos, skunks, streams and humans are all impatiently awaiting a good, deep and long outpouring of fresh rain. |
Rising above - Elevandose
Oil on Canvas board
19.5 x 19.5 cm - 7.87 x 7.87” Purchase code RA57: US$200 Sometimes we raise our sight and see a steep hill ahead. Sometimes this hill invites us to a challenging hike and other times it warns us that it might be too much. Does it matter what the outcome is as long as we are noticing what’s ahead and engaging in a kind and conscious dialog? There will be many landscapes that invite us to rise above first impressions and judgments and make the best decision we can, with what we've got, just where we are. That is all I wish. May this oil painting of Cerro Grande in the Pueblo Edén countryside be a reminder of the many possibilities that lie ahead. |

This year has been a rough one, so he has decided to be bold and bring a special present. The landscape is so ready for the surprise gift. |

Oil on canvas board
19.5 x 19.5 cm -7.87 x 7.87” Purchase code SB54: US$200 The hills that surround Pueblo Eden offer magnificent views of the valley. In this painting, Cerro Dos Hermanos lays in the background with the road passing through it heading north. At the center is Cerro Bombero, with its chopped off top. We see storms pass over these southern skies and towards the Atlantic Ocean. Such occasions leave the air fresh and ready to savor the next breath.
